Pizza Loft in Davie closes but name, staff and menu items move to DelVecchio's in Tower Shops12/6/2023 The atmosphere is unappealing, with the separate dining rooms filled with banquet tables and no real decor to speak of. I guess I should have had pizza, maybe that is okay. The rolls were reheated, causing the garlic on top to be burnt and bitter. The pasta fagioli, although a large portion, was decent, but the pasta was bloated and overcooked, as if it had been in the soup all day. The meals come with three garlic rolls and soup or salad. My wife's veal piccata was worse, as the burnt veal was used to make the burnt piccata pan sauce. Covered in sauce and mozzarella, and burnt a second time. The chicken parmigiana was burnt, dry and not filleted or pounded, but a thick piece of chicken. They were fishy and obviously frozen Sysco food-service product. The calamari appetizer was brought to the table, and resembled Burger King onion rings, all exactly the same size and over-breaded. The food was mediocre, although large portions of it were presented. I know Pizza Loft has been here a long time, has a loyal following, and does well, but this was one of the worst Italian meals I've ever had. It actually pains me to write, but this was not a good meal.
